Robocop 2014

The thing that makes it worse is that we all knew this was gonna be crap. Nobody was gutted when it turned to be just that.

Godzilla looked really good from the trailers and we were mostly pretty hyped about it... But no.

this was worse than Robo 3 :D

LOL You just brought back the memory of hiring this from the local grim newsagents on VHS. The film was dog**** but the memory of that time is priceless. Cheers.

As for this latest incarnation, meh, it was ok. It kept me vaguely interested whilst eating my tea but I haven't seen anything worth watching in aeons.

I haven't watched it, and I'm not sure I will. But part of me is really curious to know what it's like.

Its just weak compared to the gritty brutal 1st.

The "Clarence Boddicker" is almost a side character and nearly pointless. They could have painted a face on a sack of spuds and that would have done. He was one fo the best parts of the original

Its like they took all the best of Robocop, removed it, replaced it with BS, fluff, CGI robots, and weak ass 1 dimensional retarded characters that you don't care if they live or die after their first scene.

The annoying thing for me was it did have some nice moments, like stripping away everything to see what was actually left in him was a pretty cool scene, its a shame as it shows what could have been, but their was to much emotion, which is just stupid, the bike is stupid, bikes barley work in movies for some reason.

Facts are Execs stepped in and wanted a more bankable 12a show, the director was caught saying it was like working in hell, he had so many more ideas he wanted implemented and he wanted a 18 cert, you can see some of the dodgy editing that some scenes where skimmed down.

I was just about to pay £5.50 to rent this on sky to watch tonight.....

But After reading this thread I think am going to wait now till it free to view on sky movies..

(PS. I wish someone would bring back my local blockbuster as having to pay £5.50 to rent just a single movie on sky is a joke )

In before people start suggesting lovefilm and netflix.

There is unfortunately a large gap between these films leaving the cinema and appearing on either of these services, and though they do sometimes appear on the 'lovefilm by post' service, you don't always get what you want, and if you do, it's in the sodding post rather than straight onto your screen.

Companies know this and charge a premium for that time in between. £5.50 is obscene when you can watch what you like on Netflix for the same per MONTH.

I thought they just missed the point of robocop aiming for a 12 rating instead of 18.

The only thing better about this reboot was the armour. they did aim more at what was not covered in the original. so it was not a complete waste. of time

I actually preferred this to the original. The entire concept isn't great though.

May I ask how old you are?

He's 23... Old enough to know better :)

You'd be surprised. A few years back, I recommended The Terminator to a friend in his early twenties and he came back to me with the verdict that "It's crap".
I think it had to do with it not quite being up to today's visual standards or something...

It took quite an effort to not slap him, I'll admit.
