I looked at these a while back, although very cool they have no sensors so cannot act autonomously. 
It's just an advanced radio controlled car like thing.
If you want a proper home robot, although going up in price - get the AIBO ERS M3. Very impressive, does its own thing and recharges itself for 24 hour non stop coolness.
They were around £900 second hand but I sold mine about 4 months ago for about £1800. They're probably still rising in price as there's nothing else like them available but still worth it if you're in to robotics! I kind of wish I'd kept him, although he was on Extras the other night as it was Jonathon Ross who bought him off me!
