I currently have the Razer Deathadder gaming mouse, I've had it about 2 years now and has been amazing for me :D

But unfortunately it has started to get worse for wear, and I would like to try something new out, rather than just buy the same mouse again (however it is very tempting)

I am thinking of getting the ROCCAT Kone gaming mouse as i'm sure was guessed by my Title name :D

Anyone had or got this mouse and could tell me how it was, or if they had any problems with it, also any other reccomendations for gaming mice, dont say the G9 though :D i'm not a huge fan of how it feels :D

thanks !

I expect this will get moved to the General Hardware section. However, it really is trial and error to a degree, consider a logitech MX518, yeah, consider the Kone - though I have yet to try one. I hear good things about it though. The other one I would consider is the G5, I have had one of these for almost four years and after recently donating it to work (past its best), I am now using a Death Adder, which I prefer. The G5 was good but it took me a long while to get used to it. I'm not particularly bothered about mice which come with weights etc.

Yeah sorry I totally forgot to post in general forum :/ tried to delete the post but totally new to overclockers and don't know how unless you can tell me :D

And yeah its all trial and error really but when it comes to paying 60 pound for the gaming mice these days, its an expensive trial and error isn't it :D

Well you get simmilar reviews about the Razer Deathadder and any other peripheral in the world really :D

Some people can have them years without a break, others can have them 12 seconds and for them to turn to dust in their hands :D.

I've used my Razer Deathadder for 2 years, with extensive, repetitive gaming and its just started to fade in quality now :D so I guess it is opinion not fact :D

Nah its fact, my Bro has had two of them, and twice the mouse wheel has failed, its all over google about them, POS TBH.

If it wasn't a subjective issue, which it more than likely is, then we would all have G9's :D

Build quality is perhaps less debatable, like the mouse wheel you mentioned.

The general feel of the mouse, however, is entirely down to the user. :)

No worries m8
There's a thread title that I would like to be able to change that I made by accident but I don't think it is possible.
Yeah, you're most certainly right, can be a costly experience :)

The deathadder has one of the best sensors for serious gaming... your likely to be dissapointed - especially with laser mice...

Personally my top 2 gaming mice are the WMO 1.1a and the Deathadder.

I've just purchased a SteelSeries XAI, I'll let you know how it performs on Monday when it comes. :)

Sorry if its obvious but what is WMO - wired microsoft optical ?

I've got a feeling I have asked you this question before :)

I consistently read positive feedback about the mx-518 over any other mouse, that is an optical too, I think.

the WMO 1.1a was a really popular mouse "back in the day".

He's right about the laser mice btw. Some absolutely bonkers suggestions for "gaming mice" here tbh.

For serious gaming, you want to be looking at the optical sensor ones of old, not the gimmicky, clever marketed modern laser mice woth 50 billion squillian dpi which is utterly useless anyway.

Examples of good gaming mice...

WMO 1.1a (very old popular mouse but technically still as good as any)

Razer Deathadder (a really good sensor for tracking, very popular amungst palm aiming gamers)

Razer Salmosa (same sensor as the deathadder but designed for fingertip aiming gamers)

Logitech mx300/g1 (rare but from the old logi pilot shape which was v v popular)

Logitech g510/518 (another popular choice for palm aimers which came a long time before the deathadder, it shares its shape with the more modern g5 but they have a considerably better sensor for fast tracking (especially if your on a low sens)

Sorry for waffling on but its all accurate info.

To keep on the topic, the Roccat Kone is a peice of crap btw and would be a total downgrade ;)

Piece of crap?:) So you've used one and it wasn't your cup of tea? :)

Thanks for the info m8, tis not waffling, interesting little read actually :)

Well, its a pretty dodgy shape and its using a laser sensor which would make it totally inferior technically to a deathadder :) thats what i mean!
