ROCCAT KONE

I moved from a Copperhead to the Kone not too long ago and have no regrets.

I do not game on-line - gaming for me is very much an amateur pastime :)

My main reason for moving was the fact that the Razer did not 'fit' my hand as I would like and having tried, in a store ,a Kone mouse (without knowing what it was) was very impressed with its 'feel'. (it does 'fit' my hand :))

It was the 'feel' and 'fit' of the Kone which sold it to me- other reasons were very much secondary. (Would DEFINITELY recomend trying before you buy any mouse to see if it 'works' for you)

Other reasons :-
Pretty lights
Weights
Adjustability and memory to save
1st edition mouse wheel problem is I understand now fixed (been no problems with mine!!)

I have 2 'issues' :-

The price, and
the left mouse button doesn't 'click' more a slightly 'tinny'sound - it is a little variable which does not say much for the build quality:(

But overall pleased and happy - no intention of changing for some time yet :)

Long live my G7, 3+ years and counting, the onyl fault is that the mouse pads are starting to be too worn down. Other than that, I played competitive CS and was always top of the scoreboard. Shame they don't make it no more

Deathadder, Intellimouse 3.0, Intellimouse/WMO 1.1, MX518.

You'll find that 90% of top FPS gamers use one of these mice.

I've had a Deathadder, an Intellmouse 3.0 and an MX518 and would recommend all of them. Only thing is the build quality on the Deathadder wasn't great; within a couple of days it started making a clicking noise if pressue was applied to the top of the mouse.

I've got a feeling the 510 is actually 'better' than the 518, but i can't remember off the top of my head as to why. It either polls better or maybe its the 800dpi thing? hmmm!

I tried the Kone and sent it back within the week. It feels quality (and with version 2 should have no more issues with the wheel breaking) but it is a BIG mouse and I found it too cumbersome after a Lachesis.

I tried the MX518 too (and kept that as backup as it's so cheap) but I still prefer the fingertip precision of the Razer mouse.

I know what bobert50 meant though. You do seem to have to do a lot of fiddling around with config files with these laser mice to get them set up how you want. You never had that problem with the 'old' optical ones ;)

I've tried loads of top end gaming mice and nothing has suited me better than the Logitech G9.

Didn't like any of the Razers I've used comparatively, except for the Habu which was actually comfortable.
