Rocco RIP

Are 10 year old German shepherd was put to sleep yesterday. It was a very difficult decision that my wife and I struggled with.

He developed Cushings last year, we've keep him going with drugs and whatever treatment he needed. Over the last weeks he just got worse and worse, back legs not working, peeing on himself etc.

While his cognitive function was the same his body wasn't. Such a difficult decision to have to make, the vet offered more treatment, but we decided, as I could see he was in pain to not put him through it.

Happened to me just before Christmas, absolutely awful. Broke my heart and I still think of the little fella every day. It’s the right thing to do though. A life in pain is no life at all

Sorry for your loss, We lost our Beagle Brodie last year, I've never felt pain nor guilt like it. His ashes are by our fireplace with a picture of him..
We wanted to spread them on his favourite walk but cant bare to part with them now.

I’m sorry mate. Lost a dog two years ago and had to put him down after 13 odd years, broke my heart to see him pass in front of me.

You gave him the best life I bet. No doubt he was hugely loved.

RIP. In the coming weeks, one of our 12 year old GSDs will need to go over the rainbow bridge.

We've just sat all day wondering if we did the right thing. Had to leave him behind after. Breaks your heart. Now feeling guilty. Oh life is **** sometimes.
