Hi all,

ok i've installed both of these to try them out and i've come to the conclusion that i like both as they have several features in each which i like.

first object dock
Pros - that you can have the windows start menu in it.
it hides the window stask bar.

Cons - you can't drag anything onto the dock itself.
Change the way when hovering over an icon you cannot delete the writing on it so its just the icon.



Rocketdock pros for that very thing you can drag files onto it.

Cons - you can't have windows start menu
cant hide task bar.



So my question to you all is there something else out there that can do both.

or has anyone running both of these applications with sucess.

or is there an add on for either one which lets you do these things.

I would really like to know this so if any of you has the answer please tell.

I use a little program to hide the taskbar on Win 7 when using RocketDock. You can still access it if you need it by pressing the windows key. I normally have it on autohide but this is what it looks like currently.

The program is called 'Taskbar Magic'.
 
What do you all use for window organisation/switching? I did use Switcher but it really chugged with the amount of windows I tend to have open and I wasn't massive on the look of it. Anything that runs and looks like Expose? I'm not much into Alt+tab and I truely hate the cascading windows ****.
 
Well I use the standard alt+tab when switching, it doesn't really bother me. Although there is an option in RD to minimize windows to the dock, as you can see above I have a FF window there. However when minimizing something like a Window's Explorer window it'll go to the taskbar, missing RD and the only way to switch to it is by alt+tab. So far that's the only issue I've had with RD.
 
I've just remembered one of the things that annoyed me something chronic about OSX. I don't have a little orange box flashing at the bottom when I receive a message :(
