When designing icons for Rocket Dock what background colour is used to make it invisible, ie so there are no white boxes around the icon?

No colour is used.

If you like I can just save a blank png.
Right click in top left corner and save.

How can i get this to sit just above the windows taskbar? When i click bottom it just goes over my taskbar

Dock settings /possition /edge offset

There is an option in the rocketdock settings where you can alter the horizontal & vertical position. Its a slider bar that you move to do this and it will do just what you want.

Sorry can't be more specific than this until I get home.

The problem is obviously when I'm saving it as it keeps making the background white.
Must be missing something, using photoshop 8.

File - new - background contents and select transparent.

That's what I am doing but when I save it there's automatically a white background put in, there must be some setting I'm missing.

Yep!

As you can see, there's a nice white background where before there was a checkerbox to indicate invisibleness. This happened after saving the file using photoshop.

The first one has a more realistic reflection but I did 2 more. 1 has the full icon reflection the other has half as the reflection. here

just use the one you prefere.

I used Photoshop like you. I got the CS version.
Don't know why it was not saving transparent for you though. You were saving as a .png right?

Yep, saved as a .png
I'll do a bit of reseasrch and see if I turn up anything.

Edit: Aha figured it out, when I was saving the picture I noticed a box entitled options. Out of curiosity I had a look in there and noticed a big tab with transparency on it. Naturally enough I had a look in there and ticked the setting to make the images transparent.

Just to revive this a little. Has anybody had luck in getting the rocketdock or objectdock to actually display wireless connection strength? I am using the sysstats docklet and all of the ones I have tried cannot display the strength, it remains at 0.
