Hi there

OcUK has a worldwide first on the brand new lineup of ROG Swifts, check the descriptions on the webshop and ETA's for updates as stock is severely limited and we do not expect shipments until at least November and possibly later.

For now admire the specification and how truly amazing these new screens look, of course those who pre-order right now will guarantee themselves one from the first batch but be warned you will be waiting 6-12 weeks approximately:

Asus PG279Q ROG Swift 27" G-Sync 165Hz IPS Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor - Black/Red @ £749.99 inc VAT

MO-088-AS_400.jpg

The Asus PG279Q Gaming display has a maximum supported resolution of 2560×1440, also referred to as WQHD resolution. For a majority of gamers, this particular resolution is the most preferred one because of the faster GPUs you can get nowadays. They aren’t powerful enough (at least one of them) to be sufficient for 4K gaming at high refresh rates, so 1440p at 144Hz will have to do. Refresh rate means a lot more than resolution for most gamers anyways, so that is not a problem. And to top it off, this monitor is capable of reaching a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz when G-SYNC is enabled. (Only supported on GTX 960 and higher)!!

OcUK expects first shipments of this absolute stunning gaming monitor in November, stock shall be very tight and we expect limited numbers so we advice pre-ordering as early as possible to avoid disappointment and to have a monitor before Christmas.

Asus truly innovating and bringing some truly immense gaming monitors. Surround mode on the 34" must look incredible but requires a minimum of three Titan X to run it.

OcUK frequently buy up the majority of the stock for big hitting items. XB270HU was another example of this.

This we have huge buying power and can buy pretty much everything Asus can ship to UK / Europe as was evident with the Swift last year and XB270HU. Though competitors may list and even get stock Ocuk will typically get the lions share and first deliveries.

I've already ordered thousands and am first reseller to do so in Europe. :)

Stock is out there though and selling in Europe already, not pre-selling.

We have UK stock en-route, we can ask Acer about EU stock but we'd rather wait for UK stock.

In the UK we shall be first and this is what matters, not many UK customers will risk buying from Germany due to when it comes to returns/warranty.

Any responses to the situation regarding 100Hz refresh rate with the X34s? Considering that these are unashamedly being advertised as 100Hz monitors yet the manual states a word of caution - if these fail whilst running at 100Hz (or indeed suffer from any other issue such as whining - any issues at all are completely unacceptable for a £960 monitor) how will these be handled by OcUK? Also, I know what I'm looking for when it comes to bleed and glow - if bleed is unacceptable, will OcUK stand by these monitors? Heck, if glow is unacceptable it still should be considered a fault.

This really is the make or break issue for me, whether I'll cancel my pre-order or not I'm not sure yet.

Yes.
Acer said running at 100Hz won't void warranty. But I've asked for it in writing from HQ. :)

Hi Gibbo,

Can you clarify the below:

Asus is 3yr on-site once the customer has owned for 7 days or longer. Asus will swap unit on doorstep or take away and repair normally with 48-72hr turn-around but they tend to mostly swap at door.

So is there anything you can do to stop us getting bad ASUS PG348Q monitors at this price

Thanks

Nope, we won't open new monitors and one mans perfect monitor is another persons nightmare. So all we could really do would be dead pixel checking service which would also be pointless as dead/stuck pixels are so rare nowadays.

What happened to the ASUS PG348Q, it is not on the website now.

Asus ask us to take it down until they can give a better ETA for the product as they fear the delivery might slip into 2016. Once they have a more accurate ETA they will allow us to re-list. :)

No kidding, and no surprise. Bet they're scrambling to check they haven't messed up the blue colour channel as Acer have done on the X34!

Acer have already fixed this, Badass also has confirmed to me they fixed it with a firmware update and all UK stock will have this update pre-applied from factory. :)

Hang on that's not what I said :) I said Acer were planning to fix it with a firmware update but I'm waiting on details of when and how. I don't know for sure yet whether shipped stock will feature this from the factory or not but I would hope so. I'm sure that will be their intention before any more units make it in to distribution but That's not confirmed yet. I'm still waiting on info from Acer which I'll post here and on TFTcentral asap

Ah cheers buddy.
I'll ask Nick tomorrow about the firmware and if stock be flown over will have this update. :)
