I'd bet it had more torque though ;)
R32 or R33? As the R32 is only a 2.0L anyhow iirc?

What's the next step for your S2000 then?

Oh yeah of course. I know VTEC doesnt suit everyone. It was a R32, so only a 2.0litre. Sounded nice too :)

Next is fit the Decat, no point doing much more really as it gets expensive, mind you a decent induction kit would be nice.

Best thing for performance woul be a lower ratio final drive, but that would be annoying on motorways

HI m8

I loved the sound of mine when JP designed and fitted a CATBACK system to mine, which looked ACE and to this day I think it was the best sounding car I've driven when it was on song in VTEC zone. :D
I never took mine to the dyno but I could feel the difference in the mid-range on the BUTT-DYNO so it clearly added some torque.

As your going the DE-CAT route have you gotta do something with the ECU? Reason I never DE-CATTED mine as I read post where people who went to DE-CATs had no end of problems with the ECU throwing codes....

Do get the induction kit Si, I believe you can now get the AEM V2 kits from popular auction site for around £200, I had one of these on mine and it removed all heatsoak issues which I am sure your aware off and again made the car that bit more responsive, probably upto 2-3BHP gain peak but more in the mid-range.

A lower ratio final drive would do the car great, remember though with such a thing you need your ECU re-coding so that your speedo remains accurate or else it will be miles out. In regards to acceleration a lower ratio final drive would make a huge difference and you'd certainly have heaps of torque going to the rear wheels. ;) Don't worry about motorway driving as you've got a 6th speed so just use 6th on motorways.

Oh by the way at idle I've got more torque than you;) but my gearing is stupidly tall and my car weighs a lot more. :) Still shorter gears in mine now would not be a good idea as I'd never get traction with the torque it has.
