I don't think RomComs as a genre are necessarily for girls. There are some good ones around imo. There is a big difference between romantic comedies and chick flicks.

For instance...

Notting Hill = Rom Com

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days = Chick Flick

So I dare you to admit what your favourite romantic comedies are!

My favourite is "Click". Easily. I'm not an Adam Sandler fan at all, I really don't rate any of his previous movies. But seeing him in the serious scenes of this movie really changed my opinion of him. And Kate Beckinsale is hot. :D

Love Actually was awful, it is just a lot of short stories string together.

How is Closer a comedy or romantic? It's dark, coarse and borderline brutal psychological drama.
LMAO!
"An intriguing story of passion, drama, love, and abandonment involving two couples, which only gets more complicated when the man from the first couple gets acquainted with the woman from the second coupling."

That's like saying: "The Lord of the Rings is awful, it's just a group of people trudging around the countryside." Way to simplifiy a film! I don't know how anybody couldn't laugh at Rowan Atkinson in Love Actually though. :o

No, thats totally different, Love actually has about 20 main characters, all with their own little stories, only link is that some non-pseudo-important way they somehow connected to one and another. It's like reading a book with all these short stories.

But you think that's a bad thing?

What do you think about Magnolia? Or Crash? (similar in that they have many characters interlinked through almost seperate stories)

I really like Love Actually, think it's great, and I did enjoy Bridget Jones too.

To add a little different, how about the grea Rom Zom Com that is Sean of the Dead ? :D

The concept itself isn't a bad thing, I love Mgnolia. I just find the execution of Love Actually missing the mark.

Chasing Amy - (if only for Jay and Slient Bob! :D )

50 First Dates - i howled at this film, really funny, Adam Sandler did a good job!

Bruce Almighty - could this be classed as a rom com?
