"Ronaldo Career Virtually Over"

oh well, its just my personal opinion.
Can't argue with the impact Cantona had on Utd, but he's been bettered just by other players since in the Prem imo.

Ronaldo and Zidane can genuinely be mentioned when people are talking about the greatest ever player(s). Cantona can't, well he wouldn't for many non Utd fans anyway.

yeah fair enough, im looking at videos on youtube of some of cantonas best moments (including the drop kick :p) and he was a great player.

But yeah ronaldo and zidane in their prime (more so zidane though) where great.

I am actually really sad that he's possibly going to have to retire. He was such an icon in the World Cups when I was younger... I've always loved watching him play.

Ronaldo is one of my favourite players, the Nike adverts were awesome, lol.

Shame about his injury :(!

Hope he recovers.

I cant believe what people used to say about him, being fat etc, cant really complain about him!

A real shame if it's true. Was absolutely awesome in his one season at Barca and occasionally for the other teams he has played for since.

You are kidding he was a machine at real madrid as well. Totally outscored Raul in just about every season they had together.

In fact his record where ever he has been is awesome.

Such a sad end.

In fairness danny, I think I'd outscore Raul.

Yeah what I meant is Raul is this legend there, but compare his goals to games for real. Hell not many people anywhere get near Ronaldo's goals to games for Real anywhere, yet people seem to think he did badly there.

An absolute goal machine.

Such a shame that his career will probably end in this way.

Ronaldo was a phenominal talent, perhaps one of the best we'll ever see in our lifetime.

I honestly didn't realise his achievement list was so large, and that is an awesome goal-to-game ratio.

I was genuinely gutted when I saw him playing for Brazil at the last World Cup, he looked a shadow of his former self then - he'd put on so much weight and it didn't look like he could put much effort into any game he played.

Yeah he was poor in that WC, still came 3rd in Golden boot award though!

His surgery apparentely went well and being 'only' 31 he could possible still make a comeback at 32? Who knows.

Ronaldo was amazing, it's a shame he let himself go a few years ago, piling on the pounds and not working as hard as he used to, it wasn't until AC Milan came in that he got back to some form of shape.

A man who touched greatness and if not for a lifestyle which ruined his later years could have been the greatest ever.

I remember his hat-trick at Old Trafford and walking off to a standing ovation. You don't get a standing ovation at Old Trafford unless your in red - The fans knew they were witnessing a man on top of his game.

Id love to see one more season from him, its such a terrible way to end the career, it should be on his terms.
