Real Madrid are prepared to offer Cristiano Ronaldo a world-record five-year contract worth £300,000 per week after tax in order to entice the Portuguese to the Santiago Bernabeu next season.
The Spanish giants are hoping that this mind-boggling offer, which works out at £75m over its duration, will finally tempt Ronaldo into breaking his silence and declare his intention to leave Old Trafford this summer.

It has been reported that Portugal's national team coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has already spoken to his star player about the move at their Euro 2008 training camp in Switzerland and has advised Ronaldo to move to the Spanish capital.

who thinks hes gonna go?

£300k p/w after tax. Wow, that is a hell of a billing to live up to, Real had better hope he scores with practically every touch to be worth anything like that.

Isn't that about double what the next highest paid player(s) in the World get?

:(

Can't we just keep him for another year? Maybe two?

If that offer is true then I can't see him staying. It's no secret that he's going to go at some point and who could turn that down. Although will United cave? End of the day they still hold his contract so it doesn't matter how much they offer Ronaldo really.

Absolutely ridiculous. UEFA should put a stop to this, its just pathetic and its going to ruin football even more than it already is.

To be fair, if Man City can afford to pay Ronaldinho £200k a week (my favourite story yet..) then what's another £100k for Ronaldo :p

I'd stay at Man Utd for £120k tbh, but then again, I'm a Man Utd supporter.

It's a shame Brazilians and Portuguese are so hung up on joining Real Madrid/Barcelona, always have done, they feel it's the best way to be recognized. Hopefully Ronaldo stands back and realises he's already the most recognizable player in the world at the moment and will have more success at Man Utd than Real Madrid.

Lets be honest, he will not have been offered that amount really.
Real (even with the kings help) cannot afford that at all.
