Room swap problem...what would you do?

so agree. if my housemates did that to me, i wouldn't take it lightly and i would say, 'when you moving out? because my room is vacant'. i can be an 'itch at times. :p

just to let you know

told them all today no way am i moving, my name shouldnt have even been in the draw, that i wasnt properly informed about it, they more or less accepted that, there was nothing they could really do about it anyway, im bigger then all of them :D

ended up all of us having a group convo, and then i had to go out and let them argue and sort it out for themselves, not my problem! :p not sure on what they decided will happen between them, will find out tomorrow

personally woulda wanted a lock on the door, even in the form of a yale lock that didn't need to be put on all the time, if your renting the space, you're entitled to privacy....
 
Take it like a man, its 11 weeks, then say that one of the other 2 have to have the small room. Explicityl state in front of all your flat mates, that you will only swap if they all promise to swap in 11 weeks time. That way everyone has a fair share of the big rooms and the small room. Oh also state that if they do not switch at the end of the 11 weeks that you will start paying less rent.

No chance. They advertised a large room. He moved into a large room. Now they're trying to move him out of it effectively admitting that offering the large room in the first place was purely a scheme to get a flatmate in quicker.

Tell them outright no, you didn't agree to it or were even informed of it before you signed the contract.

Agreed. Tell them straight that you weren't well and hadn't realised they had entered your name as you hadn't agreed to be a part of it.

It may be a little uncomfortable with them for a while but tbh you'd be so unhappy if you gave in it would be uncomfortable anyway.
