Crouch will still have a massive part to play. I can't see rooney starting any games this world cup aprt from the final IF we get there. Yes he may come on 60 mins if we are behind etc. But that will be it I think

he hasn't played for 6 weeks (?), doubt he'll play anytime before the quarter finals, but then england will probably lose to germany on penalties in the last 16.

No. With certain types of players it does, but with the way Rooney players it's not soo important, he also hasn't been out too long/ I'm more concerned about Owen not being match fit.
