Rosetta@Home

our average daily credits are still rising, about 50k now. I have a feeling that a lot of folders (even @ overclockers.com team), are getting disenfranchised with folding on the cpu client, so have started rosetta-ing using the cpu and continue folding using the gpus.

All my 9 to 5 borgs are on Rosetta - mostly P4's, so using them where they have the greatest advantage. Much more ram intensive the F@H standard client but all machines are now on 1GB or more

As long as everyone on the same project is getting the same sort of results and you are happy that you are contributing to the science, what does it matter?:)

Ha Ha, Moral high ground approach, got me! ;)

All the project I contribute to are Science based.

I just wondered why it was so low, thought maybe it was just me!

94 more posts and I get free shipping! :D

Heh, nah Rosetta is probably closest to unoptimized client ppd on Seti which is the "gold standard" as far as boinc is concerned apparently.

You seem to be ok with that score, there isn't much you can do to tweak Rosetta to get better scores, its also more sensitive to unstable overclocks, seems to work your CPU a little bit harder or uses parts of it other boinc projects don't reach or something :)

hey, enough of the foldy speak :) cobblies, cobblies! well, actually credits per day. so thats cpd :) I don't think cpd and ppd can be equated. unless someone wants to do some maths....

The ones to worry about will be that Oc.com lot. They seem to be on the move after that scurvy mob cut their anchors.

We are out producing them by about 10k/day so they are not too much of a threat :D

We could race them to P50?

That should be just over 10million total credit.
We have a head start of around 600K though ;) Maybe we should put the brakes on and let them catch up.

Hiya fellas! Mega thread revival here. I joined the Rosetta project and your team on March 8 and have almost 10,000 credits now. The first couple days after I started I was ranked 168 on the team, now I'm at 99 and quite proud. I used the nick SourChipmunk.

Reminds me of how I found these forums in the first place. Whilst participating in SETI@Home years and years ago I was wondering about the team that was in 1st place there. It led me here and I haven't been able to escape since. :D

Glad to be a part of your team again! Looks like we're in 64th place overall right now. :)

Holy thread ressurection batman! Good to see you back and crunching Raist. As you can see some of us old timers are still around from the seti days and some are still crunching S@H eve (albeit at a much reduced rate atm) ;)

Oof! Totally missed that! Way to go team even if it was rather rude of us not to give them fair warning. My old team certainly got what for. :D
