Rough estimate?

I'm a complete WC novice and have no clue whatsoever when it comes to prices so I'm looking for a rough estimate on a loop. Obviously I'd like to focus primarily on cooling the CPU but I'd also like to know how much it would cost to cool my GPUs in the future should I wish to do it.

Current specs: MSI G45, i5 3570k, NH-D14 cooler, 16gb Gskill ram, gtx 670 WF SLI, corsair ax750 PSU, m4 128gb SSD, m4 256gb SSD, 2tb barracuda hdd, scythe fan controller, 200mm CM megaflow, 140mm thermal right fan, 2x 140mm silverstone fans, corsair 650d.

a CPU only loop you can do from about £200 if you shop around

when adding the GPU's it depends on;
do you want it to fit inside the case or are you prepared to go with an external rad (a single large rad will be cheaper than lots of small ones)
are you more concerned about looks or functionality - cheap fittings can be £2-3 each, expensive ones can be £10+ each
do you want GPU core only blocks, or full cover - core only will be about £30 each, full cover will be £80 each

as you've got some of the best air coolers on your 670's already, you will get very little benefit from water cooling them

I'm doing a CPU only loop myself using parts acquired from various sources, second hand, such as the members market.

The loop will consist of XSPC 750 pump/res, EK Supreme LTX (nickel/plexi), Black Ice GT Stealth 280MM, 6x EK PSC black compression fittings, and 7/16" clear tubing.

It's going to set me back around £85 all in all, and then I need fans and coolant on top of that. Buying new would cost considerably more.

When you throw GPU waterblocks, GPU watercooling interconnects, another radiator, a stronger pump and a res into the equation to keep a pair of 670's and a 3570K (I assume both overclocked) under control, things get a-lot more pricey.

It costed me about £700 for CPU, 1xGPU, pump/res combo, bitspower fittings (this cost me like £150 of the total amount and you can skip it), 280mm+120mm rads + fans and all the other little things. I was limited in terms of space so I had to choose carefully and HAD to include angled fittings (expensive!). If you want, I can do a detailed price listing on all the items I bought to reach 700GBP

Crikey!

Did you go for the premium everything? :D

Black ice rads, heatkiller blocks, bitspower fittings, dual D5 pump/res and liquid gold for coolant? :D

Cost me over £450 to cool a cpu and gpu in a 650D, everything was new though apart from two typhoon fans.

It was your build that got me interested in WC, my wallet hates you :)

That seems quite a lot, not sure I'd be willing to spend that much tbh.

Lol, mine hates me too, nice to know it got you interested though. I started of with a H100i then thought I would just get a 240 kit for around £200 and then one thing lead to another. I could have saved a little money not buying Bitspower fittings, I recently bought some of the new XSPC angeled fittings and they're really good. I wish I didn't bother spending out for Bitspower originally. Also if I could do it again I would have got a case that allows for a thick 360 rad and not have to buy a Phobya 200mm that will probably not fit any future builds, not to mention Phobya build quality is junk.

Gonna take my time and do a bit of research into what I need, in the meantime I'm gonna blow all my cash on a new phone :)

Roughly:

£60 for a pump
£40 for a reservoir
£60 for a CPU block
£80 per GPU block
£80 for a couple of decent rads
£50 for fittings
£50-70 for fans
£5 for tubing

When you add everything up it's not cheap but you can save some money buying things second hand as mentioned above.

Cheers for that, nice to get an idea of how much each part is. I'm in no rush to do this so I may end up buying it all over a few months or so.

You could get parts for far less, depends on what kind of quality you go for, and whether you buy new or used. Check the watercooling section on OcUK, and check around the internet for used part prices also.
