Roulette

Some of the online ones don't realise you're doubling up and can get away with it, providing you stick to your limits.

Roullette is hard enough in real life, on the computer it is a joke.

When i was in Las Vegas for a week, i followed my "lucky" number 17 all week and it didnt come up once.

On the last day i done about $200 on a table and there were two yank soldiers playing. They saw i was following 17 and decided to go with it themselves. 2 spins after i ran out of money it came up and they both had $15 on it.

Oh God I feel so sorry for him. Worse think is I told him it would be a good idea. lol I was looking forward to giving it a go too, I think I'll pass now.

:eek::eek: I can't believe there are people on this forum that would even consider this to be a good idea, GCSE level maths/stats will tell you this is an incredibly stupid idea. Give your mate a slap for being a massive numpty and then give yourself one for almost going along with it.

Physical roulette wheels in a casino can (in theory) be beaten but not by any from of simply varying your stakes.

In cambodia i walked away from a roulette table £100 up my mate i was with left over £2000 up. Though is better betting a lot bigger than me. Was completely down to luck though.

they don't care - its a dumb move anyway

you can walk into a live casino and do it, they don't care either, it doesn't matter how much you chose to bet each bet is still has a -ev expectation for you

Well it can work to an extent. I remmeber a while ago i was on some casino site which gave somethign like a triple first deposit bonus. Started playing roulette and was a few hundred quid up before long mostly just by doubling up. Went to cash out and found out that to be able to cash out you have to win 20 times the amount of the free bonus that they gave you!

Theres always some catch to **** you with these sites.

I've never played roulette since losing only £50 on it.

Blackjack you seem to have a bit more control on what's happening, my biggest win on blackjack was £170 from putting in £15.

Never been back to the casino since mind :)

One of the big bookmakers online gave me a free £10 to spend on some game or other. I came out with £20.
Funny though, when you're playing with pretend money you seem to win loads - easy. When you start spending real money it isn't like that!

Using a simple Martingale system is flawed, because there are such things as table limits. In theory if there was no limit, by doubling your stake after every loss, you would win your money back eventually plus a single orignal stake.
i.e 2-L 4-L 8-L 16-W (16 return with a 14 loss).

However this system can be modified to bring the odds back in your favour. By minimising your chance of lossing big, by only playing to a set amount, i.e 6 spins 6 losses, and switching colours after 5 wins in a row, you can make a profit. However it is not without its downfalls. I wouldn't try it if you haven't practiced a martigale system before.

I think some people are forgetting that each spin is a seperate spin, completly unique regardless of the outcome of the last spin.

Its a 50/50 chance every single time (excluding 0 for simplifying logic)

Yes, but he said

I mean no red for 14 or 15 in a row...... what are the odds?

In which case it is 0.5^14.

Yes, I'm correcting my own mistake :/

Also, regarding gambling, I heard that casinos can just chuck you out on suspicion of using any sort of system, no? So if you was doing extremely well, can't they just get rid of you, as you are technically losing them money?

please don't post rubbish because someone on here might actually believe you

it doesn't matter how you bet playing roulette is still a -ev proposition

you can stick it all on red and you might make a profit....... tis still a -ev proposition

also what on earth does switching colours have to do with anything - you realise that each spin is independent.... try googleing 'gamblers fallacy' and doing a bit of reading.....

as for the other post mentioning casions being able to chuck you out for using systems etc.... - they love people to use systems - it really doesn't matter to them if a bunch of numpties come in thinking they can make a bit of profit by simply varying their bet sizes on a game with -ev expectation...... the cumulative effect of those bets is still the same - the house wins......

Im not posting rubbish, it is by no means perfect, but there are systems that can be used to create a better chance of winning, it is of course still down to the player to understand what they are doing. I don't need to read anything, ive read more about gambling and roulette systems that you've had hot dinners.
