round vs flat Ide cables

Is there any difference in performance between the flat ribbon type and the rounded type ide cables?

I read somewhere that the cables bunched together can have an adverse affect.

Personally i cant imagine so but was advised to keep clear.

Quality round cables are ok. But in general they are parallel for a reason. In short it makes a difference but negligable imo.

I suppose the rounded ones 'could' cause some issues with the wires being bunched up close, but most good ones likely have some kind of shielding. Been using rounded IDE cables for ages and not had any issues at all
