1. Which lane would you personally get in for the 2nd exit (to the /right/ of Iceland?)

2. If somebody in the left lane taking the 2nd exit undertakes somebody in the right lane going round the roundabout here, is that OK?

Observations:
The road markings in the roundabout indicate two lanes in one direction of travel only (between the two sections of dual carriageway). Coming from Tesco and heading toward Iceland, there appears to be only one lane.

I've also seen several (near) accidents here, when people travelling between the two sections of dual carriageway take the left hand lane, but turn right around the roudabout. The accident occurs when somebody in the right hand lane intends to go straight on, exiting into the right hand lane of the next bit of dual carriageway. Is that allowed?

It's my understanding that at a roundabout intersecting a dual carriageway, you can use both lanes to go straight ahead, since somebody in the left lane should not be turning right...

Having said that, there are no actual rules are there, beyond "left lane for first exit, right lane for last exit". Everything in between is at driver discretion...

I'd go left. It's less than 180 degrees and there are multiple other exits after it.

That's a somewhat odd roundabout...

The road planners clearly thought that 2 separate lanes were required and then failed to mark the lanes at all.

Like yourself, I would consider either lane acceptable for going straight across / 2nd exit. 1st exit = left lane, 3rd exit = right lane.

It's a poorly (re)designed roundabout for sure, but not helped by the gormless people driving through Truro. Less lane discipline than the Arc De Triomphe.

Haha, you've been here before then ;) Nice to know we're famous for something other than pasties :p

Left lane I'd have thought as it's pretty much straight over. Although I wouldn't be too surprised to see people in the right lane.

If I had never been there before, left or right, but after that - left.
If I was in the right lane, I would realise it was wrong after nearing iceland and decide whether to go around or if I could move left without cutting someone up.

Heh I use that roundabout all the time. Both lanes are clearly marked as straight on (following the dual carriageway), so you obviously need the right hand lane for the Iceland turnoff.

If they arent going to bother to mark the lanes then I'd stay in the left to go straight on although a lot of people might presume it was still 2 lanes after the roundabout.
