Noticed on my usual journey to work that theres a potential time saver but no one seems to take advantage of it.

So lets say your approaching a roundabout and theres two lanes. The left lane is left only and the right lane is straight over and right only. Now turning left is quite popular so regularly its queued back 15 - 20 cars or more but the right lane is generally free flowing.

Whats the law etc on drivers wanting to go left but instead using the right lane and doing a full lap of the roundabout then turning off?

I've done it accidentally, felt lick a right ****.

I used to do that all the time at one roundabout I used on my old commute. Never had any issues, I doubt anyone even realised what I was doing.

It's queue jumping, not only that it causes even more congestion.

As long as the extra congestion is behind you it's all good :p

I see people doing this all the time at one roundabout on my way home. They're all **** holes. People are now even going down a slip road off the dualie and coming back up the slip road on the otherside just to jump past 20 or so cars. They're also ****ers. People do stuff in their cars they wouldn't dream of doing elsewhere because they can hide in their car.

I do that on the approach to the dartford bridge - it means I get sent straight into the lane I want for my exit at the other side and saves me having to sit in traffic with idiots changing lanes every 5 seconds because the one next to them is moving .5mph quicker. I do the roundabout loops quite regularly as well, so I'm an arse hole, but I'm an arse hole who gets home a lot earlier. :D

lol seems a touchy topic. to me it just seems wrong, i get a few doing a similar thing on a smaller roundabout where again its two lanes and I want to got straight over. Both lanes allow you got straight over but when you exit the roundabout the outside lane cuts straight into the inside lane so single lane traffic virtually as soon as you exit the roundabout.

that really annoys me when people do that when i'm queueing. I've had a few times where i've been at the front and we've both entered the roundabout at the same time and the race is on to get to the exit without him cutting me off.

Done it many times, it's the BMW driver in me ;)

Seriously not an issue, if people are willing to cue like sheep, let them :)
