Has anyone else noticed recently, maybe over the past 5 years or so, that roundabouts are getting 'faster'. You have to be soo quick off the mark these days to slot in to small gaps due to people booting it off the line.

It's not a problem, you jsut deal with it but. Has anyone else noticed this?

:)

I've found the opposite, people are getting slower, it's easier to approach and get in front of someone without inconveniencing them, then you get stuck behind someone going round a big roundabout at 5mph :(

Agreed. And I'm finding the number of utter twonks that are stopping for perfectly empty roundabouts and approaches to be stupidly tedious.

FFS GO, IT'S CLEAR YOU ~@!*^#%

This is true, I do come across this also but I still think they're getting 'quicker'.

Maybe you're getting slower? Because "they" certainly aren't getting quicker at anything, everyone is driving slower, mainly doing 35MPH everywhere to get that extra 2MPG.

Bloody idiots that can't actually afford to drive.

No, I'm not getting slower slower! (company car, free parts and fuel card) ;).

Frankly, I'm quite shocked by the amount of times I've recently seen people stop on a roundabout to give way to people sat waiting to join.

thats what getting a mx5 will do to you, suddenly everyones cornering far too slowly ;)

I have noticed the council round our way planting shrubbery all the way up to the junction so that you've got to stop. They are turning every roundabout into a junction, which utterly defeats the point as far as traffic flow.

Agreed.

Also I think people are getting slower, in my worldly 4 odd years of driving. And in London idiots either don't give way to the right or give way to their left, or just hesitate and nause it up. Although back in Brum some idiot thought I should give way to him when I was on the roundabout already too. Needless to say I kidnapped his entire family to teach him a lesson.

Oh god tell me about it :( LOL

Agreed, it's often mini roundabouts where everyone stops to give way to each other "on the right". As soon as people do this, I just go

I've lost count the number of times I've been two abreast on a roundabout in the right-hand lane, only to have to slam the anchors on as they seem to have no spatial awareness of where their car is and squeeze me into the roundabout.

That really grinds my gears.

Argh, this is my own personal hell. "Roundabout Gridlock" as I call it where usaully on small roundabouts, everyone is giving way to everyone and no-one is moving. It's just absolute brainless stupidity.

It's fine if you are at the front because you can just boot it, otherwise it's a perfect opportunity to mash the horn repeatedly until one of the ******* dimwitted ****'s decides to move.

Quite shocked at the ammount of people who don't know to give way to the right. A woman in her Corsa was inches off my side after she started to pull out, and of course gave me the finger and some verbal abuse.

I did then manage to do a 180 at 15mph in the town centre further on, I felt like a bit of a **** as it was her looking back at me :/

What I find most annoying at roundabouts is when the person in front of you cant make their mind up as to which lane they need to be in so swerve around infront of you without indicating. That drives me mad! :D

there's a roundabout near me with a solid-line protected filter lane. the number of people who stop and give way to the right while using this lane continually shocks me.
