I have 50mbps fibre connection with Plusnet, they provided a Technicolor TG682n router. This is ok, except for the wireless range which seems really poor.

Can anyone please suggest an alternative Router below £100 (nearer £50 would be great!). The key is range, at the moment in a 3 bed house most of the upstairs is restricted to 1 bar of signal.

I have been Suggested the Asus RT-N56U, any good ?.

Thanks

I had the original PlusNet router for a while, but the wireless range was really poor. I was getting an unstable 10Mb connection, versus 73Mb through wires.

I spent a touch over £100 on an Asus RT-N66U and it is night and day difference. Everything is a lot more stable and reliable. The router settings are so open that I had no need to flash it with the numerous other firmware.

Thanks, did you have to work hard to set it up - or was it just plug and play. Not a network expert, so want to avoid too much grief.
