After a long wait Fibre broadband has finally been released on my area, i've phoned up my current ISP Aquiss and i've upgraded from the Standard broadband to the Fibre. He said i'll need a router that supports the Fibre as they don't supply one, he recommended "Netgear" what does everyone else recommend. I don't have a huge budget so maybe around £100. I'm currently using an TP-LINK N600

TP-Link's site seems to give three results for N600:

Router: http://uk.tp-link.com/products/details/cat-9_TL-WDR3600.html
Router + ADSL modem: http://uk.tp-link.com/products/details/cat-15_TD-W8980.html
Router + ADSL/VDSL modem: http://uk.tp-link.com/products/details/TD-W9980.html

i'm assuming you have the ADSL version? One of the LAN ports can function as a WAN port so the cheapest option is getting an Openreach modem (Huawei Echolife HG612) from the bay and plug it into the WAN port.

It's the middle one, the 8980.

Then the cheapest option was what I recommended, the HG612 is around £30 from the bay so you'll be saving £70. Your TP-Link is still a decent router. From my experience using the Openreach VDSL modem is also the most stable with Openreach's FTTC network, assuming your ISP uses them.

Would this work instead of the modem or would I still need to connect it to a modem

With that Netgear you wouldn't need an additional modem.

If you're willing to stretch your budget that far there'll be other single box solutions available. Your original post was requesting a cheap option, and the HG612 is the way to go for that (£20 or less if you're patient).

BTW What does Aquiss offer that justifies the cost?

Because an Edgerouter Lite is such a poor fit to the OP's requirement.

An Edgerouter Lite would blow most of the planned budget, and on its own it's basically an expensive paperweight (no switch, no wireless, no VDSL modem).

The only reason you'd buy an Edgerouter Lite for home use is if you have an interest in that sort of thing, and that's not the impression you get from the OP.
