My sisters got the NTL through the Tv set-top box, and she wants to put another PC upstairs and have it connecting to it wirelessly so she can use the net up there, so will any router work, or will it have to be one of those cable broadband routers ?

The set-top box is connected to her PC just by a normal USB cable, as the set-top box has got a cable thats plugged into it (which i think is connected by Ethernet) which then has this like little box on the end with a red light on, and the USB cable from the PC just connects to that.

Hope that makes sense to someone lol. :)

The WRT54GL is fairly popular given all the third party firmware that's going for it, but there's plenty of others (that are popular and/or will run the same firmware). In part, it depends what you're going to connect to it - no point buying an 802.11n router if you're never going to use 802.11n adapters, for example.

I'd suggest reading the dozens of identical threads in this forum.
