I have only recently upgraded to a router from a BT Voyager modem and I am still finding my way around all the settings!

I just went into my Intrusion Detection log and saw this (in 2 parts):

Let me state that I'm not paranoid as I know that a hardwire firewall is a lot better than a software firewall (though I have both on my PC).

These intrusion attempts are normal with a router I take it?
Also would my McAfee software firewall have been able to stop these attacks?
I have looked in the McAfee firewall log but can't see any reference to any of them

Are they native to a router and if so this could explain why McAfee can't detect them?

Completely normal. I'd be worried if your software firewall were picking them up as that would mean that they were getting through your router which would defeat the object of having the firewall on the router in the first place.
