Hey all, hoping someone has a clue about my problem, as i dont.. so thought i'd give it a shot here..

Basically my router keeps restarting randomly, i've tried just connecting from modem to my PC(without using the router) and tried the same with brothers, then it does not work at all?

Modem does not send or recive when not with router- however works normally with it, until router restarts that is.

so really not sure what the problem is, any advice would be greatly appreciated! i can't finish a game of bf3!.. at least i can play skyrim.. ;)

although it is completely random sometimes it does it more than usual, only a few times so far this morning last night was every 5 mins at least.

Just to add, it's a cable router- if that helps, had it a while so might just need a new 1 however, surely the modem should still work on its own without it? so don't know if it's the problem

It was a dodgy power brick that caused this to happen with my old modem router. If I disabled the wireless point it also helped. As for yours, well it could be the same or something different.

In modem only mode you'd need the PC to have a set IP as there'd be no DHCP.

My router used to keep rebooting, I contacted O2 whom I am with and they did something their end and fixed it, it did slow my speed down a fraction though
