Router make a difference?

Hi all

I have a old netgear about 4-5 years old the now it fine i was wondering would getting a new one say

or going all out with

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-167-NG&groupid=46&catid=1595&subcat=

make any diff to speeds then my trusty old one?

Sorry was refering to downlaod and or uploads speed. I know they are based on your ISP line and exchnage etc but would a newer router maybe net you more stable speeds or a small increase due to firmware?

Not really no, save your cash until your old router breaks or dosent have a feature/capability you need.

yeah its one of old DG none wireless ones from 4-5 years and it fine so maybe i should keep it. one the reasons i asked is i have 3.5meg connection i get about 1meg d/l when doing a large file with the odd 30sec spike to 10meg lol was thinking a upgrade may have stablised it. I would rather polish a turd then call my isp to be told to reboot my router again lol
