We have 3 routers (2xAc87u and 1xn66u) located in our bedroom, downstairs central and end of garden in summer house.

I bought another ac87u to replace the n66u, and considering putting the n66u in our loft.

Currently all APs are running same SSID different channels and the handoff is pretty seemless.

If I ended up still using he n66u but on a different channel as current setup, will I run into any issues?

You've already got the kit so just try it if you think you'll need the additional coverage.

Depending on the physical spacing you could have problems with available channels on 2.4GHz.

If you'd planned this from the start you could have had SME grade APs, with real seamless roaming, for the same or possibly less cost.

Yes in hindsight absolutely agree. Started off with one and got a few more as they were reduced

All setup and works well. Full reception over all three floors and at bottom of garden, switching seems seemless too.
