Hi guys, I have been sorting out my cousins router and part of it involved updating the firmware... I followed all instruction but when it came to booting up and so on, it would let the computer connect to the net if it was wired, but not wirelessly....

Now, it sounds simple but there is a another problem. I cannot get into the settings menu through the IP address and the software cannot detect the router...

IPCONFIG on CMD just comes up with some random thing... so basically, is there anything I can do?

It is a Tenda W306R if that helps...

Tenda? Never heard of them. You will get a lot of problems like this with unknown brands :(

Can other devices see the wireless at all? Another laptop or phone etc.

Nothing at all... I was thinking I may be able to flash it... but I don't have a clue how to... and where to get the software.

The worst thing is that it was working before (just not allowing MW2 to function online)... and I was recommended to update the firmware...

Get a different router, seriously. I'l wager most of your issues come from using and unknown Chinese brand in the uk.
