Hi guys

I have 2 phone points in my house and 2 netgear routers

1 phone socket is upstairs and the other is downstairs

When i try to use the two routers at the same time it will only work on 1 of them unless i disconnect the other then that 1 will work

Is there anyway of getting the router to have internet on them at the same time?

Thanks

You will only have 1 line, the other will or should just be an extension. unless you have to lines in your house (different phone numbers)

but You can have 2 routers but only 1 will gain the ip info and stuff.

Are you just trying to obtain better wireless or avoid long wireless connections.

I have the same issue kind of, my master phone socket is in the attic, so i have a netgear dg834gt up their as it handles the connection better (higher sync speeds) then i have that connected by DSL (rj11 i think ? ) cable to a dlink wireless N downstairs to connect the pc and playstation, also gives great wireless range and speed.

Is this the thing your trying to achieve ??

2 routers on 1 phone line won`t work
1 router connected to master socket then a network cable to other pc/ps3 etc (best)
1 router connected to master socket then wireless to other pc (not so good for gaming though)
or 1 router connected to master socket then use powerplugs to other pc/ps3 etc

You might be able to set one up as a repeater if you are having wireless issues but this really depends on the router, Powerline networking might suit your needs
