had terrible download speeds earlier

noticed the download sync speed on my router was down from the usual 8128

tried restarting it but the sync speed just went down again and the download speed was still terrible

switched it off for 10-15 mins - when I switched it back on the download speeds were back to usual but on the BT Wholesale speedtest site I noticed my IP Profile had dropped

it worked OK for a while but I restarted the router to see if the sync speed would go back to max 8128, but when it restarted I was back to terrible download speeds

switched it off for 15 mins again and when I powered it back up the download speed was back to normal

through all this on tests the ping and upload speed have been as high as I can expect from my line

does this sound the symtoms of a fubar'd router ? or huge coincidence ?

No need for so many threads. ;)

Grab a second-hand DG834Gv4 from the bay if you want to know for sure.

they're all seperate issues!
just trying to see if anyone else had the same thing happen to them
will prob just get a decent router from an online shop so it can be returned if necessary, can't be arsed with this guessing what's wrong game!

bought an Asus DSL N55U

is it advisable to mess with the stability adjustment ?
it actually syncs lower than what the belkin router was, but if I chnage the stability adjustment to -2 it's back to full sync 8128
loads of thinsg to play with in the settings I don't unserstand but I'll leave them for now :
