Router recommendations?

I wish I had your luck. I have the dubious pleasure of working at an MSP who support literally hundreds of companies with Unifi stuff installed. We see issue such as overheating on different customers or speeds suddenly drop to ssid suddenly disappearing.

I work part-time for a high-end domestic installer and they’ve literally got thousands of UniFi access points in use all over the UK, Ireland and a few in Europe and they’re rock-solid. I have massive issues with other UniFi equipment (the routing and controlling mainly) but the access points are bullet-proof.

Just to suggest an alternate I use the TP Link Omada stuff, its really solid perrformance and nothing like the cost of a Unifi setup,
R605 router, £46
OC200 cloud controller £70
EAP225 AP £70 each

I have this setup at home, never drops connection, easy to setup and all the configuration options are there. My house has three floors, I have an AP on Ground and top and another outside on the rear of the house, great coverage everywhere including the shed (~500Mbs). THe cloud controller is required if you want the setup to handle roaming between AP's (for me roaming is essential on a multi AP setup).
FYI, on the 2.4GHz band using 20Mhz wide channels you shouldn't setup more than 3 AP's or the channels overlap each other, with 3 you can set them to CH1, 6, and 11 to prevent interference with each other (thats of course ignoring neighbours wifi ). On the 5GHz band you have more options for non interfering channels even with 80Mhz wide bonded, but the signal coverage on 5GHz does attenuate far more than 2.4GHz over distance and through walls etc.
