Is there any way that i can test my router to make sure it is working at it;s full potential (Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G). I have 1 wired computer and 2 wireless.1 of the wireless pc's always seems to have a fluctuating signal but is no more than 50 feet away from the router.

For the WAN side not a lot you can do on cable other than Download a large file and do the maths.
As for the LAN side, set both wireless PCs to either ping the wired PC with very large packets many many times or Copy a big file from it to each wireless PC. That'll pretty much test if the router is up to par.
Your fluctuating signal is probably due to the adapter not the router. Most routers can do 50feet easily.
