Im using a GL.inet B1300, pretty powerful router to be fair, dead easy to use, and you can add further routers of the same model to it called meshing to extend the wifi range around the house, I have 13 devices attached to my 1 router, using Mullvad wiregaurd VPN which is actually built into the router, and therefore, every device in my flat is going out via the VPN, the only device that doesnt like the VPN is my Virgin Tivo box so ive had to set up a policy get that device to bypass the VPN, also dead easy to do, its very user friendly, I got mine from the rainforest, im on a 350mb broadband connection from VM, the hub is in modem mode, hard wired to the router, my main PC is also hard wired to the router, everything else is wifi, and whilst using the VPN (depending on which server I use) I get upto 250mb, pretty good for a vpn.

Because it runs on the OpenWRT software, they are always updating it.

They also do an S1300 which is probably more suited to your needs, the S stands for smart home, it also has a faster CPU and more RAM than the B version, but along with that, also costs more.
