Rowing

A brilliant silver from Grainger and Thornley, particularly considering they were out of the Olympics only a couple of months to go and even had to try out for the eights.

Well done to Glover and Stanning, what a pairing they are and the pressure they must have been under would be immense.

Also an excellent result for the mens heavyweight four, I think Team GB have performed about as well as should have been expected so far and here's hoping for a couple more medals in the rowing.

Tried getting the first interview with the New Zealand rower, Redgrave told him it was rowers code of conduct to let the rower talk with their own countries media first but John Inverdale ignored him and continued. Redgrave then stopped the interview and told the rower to speak to his own media first.

What a race that was. Amazing effort from the Croat to come back. He looked well beaten with 200 to go. Shame after all that extra effort he was just pipped on the line by the smallest of margins.

Didn't Steve grab Drysdale's arm as he went past getting his attention though?

Stupid from Inverdale to try get an interview first and really should know that after so many days of covering the rowing, but assuming I didn't imagine that, why didn't Steve just let him continue on to the New Zealand TV crew? He would have known they'd get an opportunity to speak to him afterwards.

Silver. That's a fantastic result, given GB have never won a medal in the women's 8. Gold would have been better, but USA were supreme and the current champions.

I think that was a foul-up by the racing authorities not to either give them both a gold medal or do the race-off that Pinsent (I think it was) kept suggesting. If you're going to give them the same time and the photo-finish didn't make it any clearer then there needs to be a better way of making a distinction than there appears to be.

I think it was just to get his attention and say well done or perhaps allow John Inverdale to also give some quick congratulations before Drysdale went to NZ media. Mr Inverdale does seem to have a remarkable habit of putting his foot in it though and that was a bit of a bit of a clanger again.

Brilliant performances from both the women's and men's eights - perhaps the women's was even the better of the two as it was unprecedented.

Gold! Well done men :D

Really is something to look at the lineup and see the 8 big guys with gorilla shoulders and arms... and then the vastly smaller coxswain :D

I think it's the only sport in the games where one of the active team members has to fit very different physical requirements to the others.
