Roy Scheider has died

Noooo! :(

"We're gonna need a bigger boat!"

RIP Roy

Smile, you son of a ***** <booom> :D

Funny, that's exactly the first thing I thought of as well after reading that.

Blue Thunder was one of my favourite childhood films. Probably couldn't sit through the massive swathes of cheese and corny one liners today but it certainly struck a chord back then.

:( Another great actor from growing up gone.

gutted, just read this on the BBC site :( Great actor, my father-in-law is the spitting image, I even call him Roy on occasions. Jaws-fest methinks now..

I just said to my colleague - "Oh God, Roy Scheider has died"

"Who's that?"

"You know, the guy in Jaws"

"Oh right."

"You don't care, do you. I care about that more than Heath Ledger."

"Bah. Who cares. Keith was hot."

Obviously being 'hot' matters more than being a screen legend.

Such a loss. Great actor, and from the interviews I've seen him in a nice, down to earth bloke.

Jaws, French Connection, The Russia House and even Seaquest DSV where great.

Jaws 2 doesn't look as good as 1, because 1 was so good. Roy owned 2, but had to share 1 somewhat with a better supporting cast. Plus there was a little of the curse of the sequel about it.
