Royal Mail 1st Class Are We Being Conned?

Didn't realise until this morning that the price of a first class stamp had gone up so much, currently at 39p and set to rise to 41p in April.
A fair amount to send a birthday card, or a letter.

A fair amount? Who are you kidding? Just 41p to send something to the other side of the country? Bargain. We're getting complacent.

As a side note if you're talking about Final Fantasy XIII and a certain popular retailer on these forums the retailer has actually fibbed; the game wasn't despatched on Friday and will in fact be despatched today for delivery on Monday.

I've been trying to warn people, they do it time and time again, it's just a ploy to prevent people from cancelling :p

Take the money, mark as dispatched, don't actually dispatch it :p

Saturday isn't really classed as a proper working day, and nor should it ever be. It just sounds like someone's camped out by their letterbox hoping their parcel arrives for the weekend. :D

Hey, someone's gotta pay my wages! That extra 2p will help fund my increasingly decadent lifestyle.

:D

Buy a book of first class stamps and beat the price increase.
I still have 4 left in my last book of 12, which I bought a couple of years ago. :D

I think the cost of posting a 1st class letter is unbelievably low! For 41p per letter we get pretty much a next day service and a postman to our door every day of the week without fail. If you were setting up the Royal mail from scrath I'll bet you'd want to charge a lot more than 41p per letter!
