I bought a phone off ebay, the guy sent it on the 9th, ive told him and he says for me to
The item was sent via recorded delivery, You have the
tracking number, So if you go into your local post office they will be able
to assist you,
I thought that was his job?, what should i do.

Recorded Signed For™ items are only tracked after the item has been delivered. Depending on whether the item was sent first or second class, this may be a few days after posting. Please try again later.

Information on your item is not yet available online.

Doesnt change, untill i recieve it.

If it doesn't arrive and tracking tells you nothing, open an item dispute for "item not arrived".

If the seller can't prove it arrived, then you win.

Simple.

It is then up to the seller to claim any compensation.

If nothing comes tommorow il open a dispute, cheers mate!

Its a personal seller. Just makes a difference to your entitlements. I can tell you exactly what your rights are with business sellers, but not personal ones!

XD, for the 15 day wait where does it say on royal mails website, ive been waiting ages for this phone I had another problem with another seller who never sent the phone.

Starting to **** me off.

Edit: Also if the user asks me to go to my local post office so that they can assist me, isnt it THEIR job to sort this out?

This is what he wrote first:

I'm sorry to hear you still haven't received the
item, I spoke to the post office today and they advised for you to check
with your local post office other than that I don't know what to suggest,
Sorry for any inconvience this has caused you, sending an item via recorded
delivery Is meant to be the safest way possible.

Yeah, I saw that feedback a couple hours after I had bought it, even though I had checked his feedback before I bought the phone.

You can open dispute a dispute now. They will give the seller 7 days to prove delivery took place.

If they can't, you win dispute by default.

Thats just it, until 15 days are up, the seller cannot do anything with Royal Mail. It should have been delivered within 5 days, if it was actually sent first class, but it is not yet lost. Have you tried going to your local callers office and asking in there? You should also be able to find the local number in your telephone directory.

That's the seller's problem.

That comes up sometimes when the tracking number hasn't actually been assigned. Once it gets scanned it should start getting some tracking history. Usually you get 3 or 4 scans per delivery.

Sounds to me like it was never sent or RM have messed up.

Doesn't first class recorded only cover you for about £50 though? Not sure if I'd have sent £400 of goods and have only £50 insurance.

Did you read the first line?

And yeah I know but its the sellers problem what courier he/she chooses.
