I'm currently waiting for a letter that posted 1st class 13 days ago - I'm guessing I'll be lucky to get it by the 2nd week in January.

I've heard horror stories of people still waiting for 48 hour delivery parcels sent in November.

What sort of delays are people seeing ?

Replacement handle for tumble dryer dispatched on 29th, arrived on 30th (normal first class post, not any kind of premium delivery option). Still receiving christmas cards. Its a bit random to say the least !

I have something mailed by SD on Wednesday and turned up Thursday, so some parts are working as intended - the backlog of regular mail will still be horrific from the strikes.

They'll be working on "first in, last out" so it depends how big the backlog was on the days the post was sent. We've had some tracked 24 items take 2 weeks, some sent a couple of days later go straight through.

My mum posted all our cards 6th Dec. Most received theirs before Christmas. Two relatives in Nottinghamshire haven’t received theirs. Yet a family member living 500 miles away in a remote area of Scotland, got theirs the quickest!

Think the RM are not bothering to sort out what mail was received first in the sorting offices. As everything we had in the post We’d-Friday had Dec 9th dates. Ones before Christmas were dated 13th

Daily Telegraph said the post delays will take to Feb to resolve (longer if Rm decide to go on more strikes). So May get a red envelope on Valentines Day, turning out to be a card from your cousin

I think parcels are more likely to arrive than letters, they seem to be prioritising parcels in my area. I'm waiting on a letter sent in late November still, but my parcel ordered just before Christmas has already been delivered.
