Sent a GPU to a fellow forum member on monday and it still hasnt arrived, for reference i live by liverpool and he lives by london, sent 1st class, the lady at the counter said it would roughly take 3 working days.
Any info/insight would be appreciated :)

I don't think that Royal Mail know the meaning of "1st Class" any more.

OcUK sent out a correctly addressed order to me last Saturday clearly marked 1st Class, which was eventually delivered on Wednesday... not good at all.

I had something posted from OcUK on Wednesday and it arrived Thursday... maybe the Royal Mail just hate you :p

I think it really depends on area, its reasonable down here for speed, but i always send recorded for peace of mind.

That's 3 working days, though. Which, according to the OP, is the estimate direct from a Royal Mail employee. If you wanted it sooner, why didn't you pay extra for special delivery?

For reference, I've ordered countless items off the internet, many of which have been delivered by Royal Mail in a timely and efficient manner. Only once have I ever had a parcel not turn up through Royal Mail, and in that instance the eBay seller couldn't provide proof of postage. Comparatively, I've had a much, much worse experience with every courier service I've ever used than with Royal Mail.

Should have sold me the first 6970 for £90 would had the 2nd of you for that price.
Hassle free seeing as I only live 2 mins away :)

P.s updated your trust ( hint hint)

That comment by a Royal Mail employee is incorrect, as the official 'line' is that 1st Class Mail should be delivered in 1 or 2 working days. I wasn't in a particular hurry for the item, but my reply was in answer to the question from the OP.

Up to a few weeks ago I was very satisfied with the service I received from Royal Mail... until they closed down our nearest sorting office, and moved everything up to Birmingham, since when standards have dropped noticeably.

The remark made earlier that it depends on area, is also true I think. For example I did actually receive an item I ordered on EBay from a seller based in Birmingham on the day after it was posted, so it's not all bad.

Personally, if given a choice, I would rather have a package sent by DPD than by Royal Mail, but I know that we all have different opinions of couriers, and that is another can of worms I have no particular wish to open again here!

I know it's different but I've had things from the exact same place in China with the exact same shipping service take anywhere between a week and a month. Give it until Tuesday/Wednesday next week before getting too worried.

If youve sent it normal 1st class you cant do anything for 15 days i think

However, sending a GFX card anything other than RMSD is asking for trouble.
