I have just missed a package being delivered from Royal Mail I was sleeping! But anyway they left me the usual" Sorry, you were out" Card.

And it says if I want to pick it up leave 48 hours to pick it up. What are the chances if I went down to night after 6 that I would be able to get the package?

Reason I need it so quick is cause its an important item. Ano if it was soo important I shouldn't have slept in :(

Ring them and see, if it was a large item then the driver would have taken it back at the end of the shift, if it was small and brought by the actual postie then he may have taken it to a local Post office and it wont be available for pick up as soon.

I would do the same mate...I just dont drive :(!.

And it says on the back off the card that is has being taken back to the sorting office in Belfast (in the city centre). But not to collect it for 48 hours? So I presume it was the van it was a Recorded Signed for Packet!

Certainly ring and try, I was told before I had to wait 24 hours as it went back to a different sorting office to the one I had to collect from, which would not deliver all the parcels for collection until the morning, and that has been the case for the majority of the times.

However sometimes just tried later on the same day and managed to pick up the goods :)
