Royal Mail service

Is it just me or is the entirety of the Royal Mail just shocking these days? Prices constantly go up and it takes them longer than ever to deliver something! There was a time when first class was pretty much guaranteed to be next day, now it takes 3 or more for something to arrive.

Then of course there's all the deliveries when you're out working. No problem just head to he sorting office to collect. Oh hang on no, they're only open during office hours!! The local depot to me doesn't even have a single late evening opening hour session, it just shuts at 12pm every day.

It's no wonder it's going down the pan.

In the last year... People have been complaining about it for far longer than that...

That said the fact it is beig fully privatised shortly is a bit disappointing, but then the profitable business was taken years ago from it.

The service in these parts hasn't changed for the worse and is still good.

Service is still decent here also, first class is generally next day still over here for receiving and delivery

This is my big problem with them, numerous times I've had to be perched at the door ready to open it the second the silhouette of the post man appears or the parcel goes back since apparently the 3 seconds it takes to walk from the settee to the front door are too long and the card has been placed (funny he had one ready, must have sat in the van writing them all up so he could just place them and run)

There's so many better companies out there now for deliveries, TNT, Amazon Logistics etc. If they don't improve I could see them going under.

I pay what, 70p, and somebody delivers it to the other side of the country next day.

Seems pretty good.

It's not though is it? I had something posted to me on Monday first class and it still isn't here. That's taking the **** even for second class.

No one else can do, wants to do, or does do what Royal Mail provides.

Indeed, whistl cherry picked all the profitable areas to deliver but they have called it a day and have fallen back to Royal Mail for the final mile of delivering their items.

I ordered 4 rubber door stops yesterday from the bay and they dropped through my door this morning.

Also anything I get from OCuk that is sent first class post always comes next day.

When posting something to outside of your own area it seems a bit hit and miss. I've posted stuff from the midlands to the south coast and pretty late in the day and it's arrived the next day much to our surprise. I've also had times where something has taken ages or not ever arrived from the west country.
