Royal Mail "we tried to delivery" Tickets Annoyances

Never had any problem around these parts, although post is getting later, it used to be around 5-6am now its around 10. Private couriers are brilliant to us, if anyone else gets the big arab dude from amtrak give him a cup of tea, the man is a legend. :D

Our old postman had a great deal going with the newagency round the corner, the roads parcels would get left there instead, so convient he was a great guy

Unfotunatly thats not allowed now

at home they are a joke, just put the card through the door for anything, never even bother knocking most of the time.

the thing I really resent is that when I pay for stuff to go by special delivery, I have to fill a form in and wait upto 5 working days to find out who signed for it, whats the point of signed for delivery if you have to fill a form out to find out who signed for it. Absolute ******* joke. I fill the form in now for every parcel i get special delivery, even if I've signed for it myself, just to make them do some work.

A month or so ago I found one of those notes from a courior about a week after it had been "posted" lying around in my back garden! A lot of people use the back door instead of the front as there is a walkway out front but come on! They could have least gone round the front and put it through the letter box!

It stated that they would hold the parcel for 7 days before returning it and I found the note in the evening of the 6 day! Rang up very annoyed and got the answerphone which I hung up on. Got my Mum to ring the next morning as I was at work and she got them to redeliver for free thankfully. Was not amused though.

RM aren't so bad although I think it's standard up here to say 48 hours wait. Had them try to deliver at 6am which is now good but in general they are ok. I have the depot just over the road so it's easy enough to collect when I do missing them as well.

I bought a DVD burber for my pc a few years back, I remeber ordering it at exactly 6pm, didn't think I'd get it till two days later. Went out the following morning to put petrol in car etc. Got back and there was a card through my door saying there was a package waiting for me down the sorting office and it would be ready within 3 hours.

3 hours passed, I went down there and they couldn't find it, wasn't amused either but I waited, eventually they found it, 4 days later, postie had only gone and put it in the safe and not told anyone else.

I bought something off a guy on the forums a couple of weeks ago.
Asked him to mail it to me when I returned from a trip to the father-in-laws, which he did.
Sent it special delivery on the Thursday, nothing came on the Friday (was in all day). On the saturday the postie sticks a "we tried to deliver" your package card through the door.
Steamed down to the P.O. and demanded an explanation, they didn't want to know and went as far as calling me a liar, saying that the card must have been put through on the Friday
Not in any shape or form the sellers fault but incompetent Royal Fail.

I live 5mins from my post office yet I HAVE to wait 48hrs before I can collect it from the post office in the town. When the card is marked 24hrs I end up getting told "the guy should have marked it as 48hrs" it’s ridiculous.

If you have to get something thats time critical you should always have it delivered well in advance, or buy it in person.

I'vce been burned too many times trying to get delivery to occur on a given day....
