Royal Mail!!!!!!!!!

Right you lot ...... shut it :D

As a postie I feel as though I have a little bit of sticking up to do here.

People never post to say that their postie delivered their parcels on time and never really comment on the 'good' service that they get. It's always the negative.
You winge that a postie has brought you a parcel too early  Oh dear, perhaps you should have phoned the sorting office and asked if the postie could phone you to arrange a time that is convenient to you to deliver your precious parcel. Never mind that the poor bugger has been lugging it about in their bag for most of the day and now he/she has to carry it around even longer because you never got out your scratcher to answer the flamin' door
A quick tip for you all.
Speak to your postie about delivering parcels. We will happily sign it for you and leave it around the back of your house if it means that we don't have to lug it about (even though we aren't meant to). This means that should you be out at the time of delivery you will normally see a little note from the postie to let you know were your parcel is. Or, you can write to the post office and give your postie the go ahead to do this for you. (If you want to take the official line). We are not all a bad bunch although there are a few dodgy people out there. This could apply to any job though.
And while I'm in rant mode .... don't address letters saying Mr M Smith, Edinburgh. It wont get there. Use the correct flamin' postcode as believe it or not that really does help a great deal. Get yourself a decent sized letter box and not one of those victorian things that can only accomodate 'normal' sized mail. (before A4 was invented). Keep your ruddy dogs out of our way and get your missus to answer the door once in a while wearing nothing but a smile :D
After all, we might have been walking about in the pouring rain for the last couple of hours and we need something to cheer us up :)

When it comes to the time of day parcels are delivered I would prefer to get mine at 0730. That way I would actually be in, as it happens they are always delivered sometime between 11am-3pm which is no use to me. But then as I know the postie isn't my own personal postie that just means I have to pick it up next day and I live with it. What I do object to is the fact that only one parcel in the last 12 months had been delivered correctly to my address. As with all jobs some posties are good, some are bad - I am just unlucky enough to have one of the bad ones.
