Royal Mail.

Ordered some fan's > Paid £4.95 Recorded Next Day Delivery, posted friday come Saturday no mail > another RM > EPIC FAIL. If you complain it fall's on deaf ear's, no wonder me included are turning more and more to private courier's.

Just another nail in the RM Coffin.

Recorded delivery or special delivery?? Next day isnt guarenteed for a saturday unless you pay extra for that but they mostly do arrive beofre 1pm on a sat at least at our office.

A lot of people seem to think privitasion is the answer but its not. It will be the same people doing the same job with less resources and more work to do in less hours:eek:

RM's Website -
One of the most popular postal services, First Class mail aims to deliver your letter or packet the next working day, including Saturday.

So what your saying is with statement's like that, it's a white lie and they are hood winking their customer's.

No I was talking about the specific services recorded or next day.

Regular first class post
Also with your quote it say aims not guarantees. The aim in 99% of same area post by next day first class for example thames valley to thames valley is alomst certain next day first class. Lands end to john o groats first class could get there next day but is allowed to be 2 days with second class being longer. If you paid for special delivery it will be there next day before 1 pm but on a saturday its not guarenteed before 1pm unless you pay extra.

Hope that clears that up.

There's no extra charge for recorded delivery as it fall's under first class mail for delivery Saturday, l would hardly compare Lincoln to Newcastle to Landsend to John O Groats in the same league. You say it will be the same people doing the same job's with less resources and more work to do in less hours. When you's get privatized and the axe fall's you'll be in for a big shock, l was a Train Driver for BR and l know what can happen. You'll will be told one thing leading upto privatization, but when your privatized and your not under the Goverment, The Grim Reaper will have a field day.

Is it me or have royal mail really gone down hill. I order my logitech g500 wednesday first class. It got dispatched thursday at 9am. I didnt get it today so i went into the sorting office. They guy said it hasnt even arrived yet. one to two buisness days 1st class delivery is. If its not in the sorting office now. I will no doubt get it monday. I doubt i will use royal mail again. They are unreliable.

first class does not mean guaranteed one or two business days delivery, and anyway as already mentioned Monday is the second business day since you ordered the product, so dont be so impatient.

I had a recorded delivery posted to me on Tuesday and it still has not arrived but im not complaining.

Recorded delivery only means you will get it signed for upon delivery/non delivery. It wont go any faster than any other mail. The extra cost i was refering to was for saturday for special delivery

My landsend comment was just an extreme example nothing more.

We know that the axe will fall and royal mail will just get butchered :( and so will the public. Although I will laugh at the ones who crowed it will be better privitazed :P
