royalsteeringwheels anyone ordered recently?

Rang the gargae where I bought my MX5 from. They told me to take it to a qualified Mazda gargae to perform the swap as to not void the comprehensive warranty I have on the car.

Rang a Mazda indy £70

Rang Mazda £40

I should hope so. Can't be much more than about 30 mins to disconnect the battery, 2 clips or whatever for the airbag, and one bolt for the wheel.

lolwut. it's a 5 minute DIY job. should be plenty of youtube videos as well as guides on dedicated car forums. you should join up to a specialist forum for your car and then do some reading

Yeah not a big job. Just removing two bolts, then the airbag, then the steering wheel controls and then the centre bolt. Then rmove plastics from old wheel and attach to you knew wheel and refit.

It needs to be done by Mazda to not affect the warranty from the dealer.

I know how to do it.

Sure it does.....

Its 40 quid and CBA lol

I'll get a receipt for it..If anything happens to my car in the coming months, then I'm covered and there is no way the dealer can squirm out of it...Its not hard lol

Say the airbag goes off by accident...They could say the wheel was changed by me....I'll just get the recipet out saying it was installed by a Mazda dealer.

No grey areas...

The warranty I have is a full warranty. Even the tyres are covered if i get a flat.

The warranty even covers MOT when the time comes in 12 months time...

Everything is covered just like a new car.

I wasn't saying anything bad about it really. £40 for the ability to have comeback against a proper dealer, is great. Cant believe the indy was almost twice as much. Just lol.

Anyone thinking about a new steering wheel go for it, it's transformed by MX5 :)

Just been quoted £95 + VAT by Tunbridge Wells Mazda to do a switch over.

Lol

e: Then rang the mx5 restorer who said it would be about £25

Bloody stealers!

I went to see him... I got a good deal because he had a cancellation and it was about £120 or £130 fit... normally £10-20 more than that.

I went to see him, he already had one retrimmed for me and just swapped the wheels over. Took about 30 mins.

For those of you on a budget and want a Diy option then search mewant on aliexpress.

I did the Z4 with the artifical leather one and it came out perfect. I wanted the steering wheel thicker and because the cover goes over the old one it did just that.

Heres a dicussion on them on the z4 forum:

https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=100390&hilit=Steering+wheel+Chinese

And another:

They do wheel covers for other brands and they are easy to fit skill wise but they take about 4 hours to do.
