I'm thinking of getting an RPG. for some reason i have felt compelled to do this today. i've not played many before. My friend suggested oblivion which i played once. i've also seen a box set of myst.. i've never known if this game is any good but i used to like looking at pictures of it when i was in shop..

so any suggestions for some really good rpgs that have been released in the last year or so? nothing online as i dont want to be paying any subscriptions.

Thankyou.

Well Myst is a cracking game and it's sales figures bolster that POV but you need to be a certain type of character to get enjoyment out of it. its not really an RPG in the common sense - the game relies on the players enjoyment of figuring out bizzarre puzzles with only hints at how to solve them. Once you solve the first few you will know whether you love it or hate it. same with the sequels.

as for RPG's we I really like oblivion and the Witcher is supposed to be excellent BUT hands down the best RPG i have played is Vampire: the Masquerade: Bloodlines. its only £5-£10 and id chocked full of adult themes and excellent humourous dialogue.

slightly buggy but you will forgive it :)

Yes, get vampire the masquerade! Very easy to get in to and should keep you very happy. Can be picked up cheaply now too or on steam if you want it ASAP.

Holla dude,

Played all those games but for me Oblivion wins hands down each time. Just the freedom to roam about and do your own thing and explore different places is worth its price by itself.
Oh and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is an ace game as well.

i would have to say oblivion is probably one of the best rpg's ive played before finaly finishing with the game i racked up around 314 hours and thats not including time spent due to crashes etc

if you want some thing a little simple diablo 2 with the expansion is another good rpg it may seem just like a hack and slash game but theres so much diversity in different builds and various equipment that you can find, infact for a game thats around 6 years old it still has a large following

Generally Oblivion is a love it or hate it type game. I personally played for about 10 hours and found the world, characters and levelling so boring, bland, tedious, and generic that I could not possibly continue.

That's just my opinion. Many on the other hand absolutely loved it such as the above poster.
