Hi all,

I have a 360 and love some of the games there, no problem and i no the place to be will be the pc this fall, bioshock, cysis haze etc..

But for the love of ... where are the next gen RPG's??? i can feel myself crying out for just one good one. I have played "enchanted arms" and yeah it was good on a basic level.

So please post info on how you feel about the lack of turn and non-turn based RPG games and which if any you know about, or are looking forward to on the next-gen platforms, PS3, or 360 :)

I'm seriously looking into both, blue dragon and Lost odyssey on the fact Nobuo Uematsu will be doing the music on both.

Thanks,

Also, I no you can play RPG's online, WOW, Guild Wars LOTO etc. Played guild wars on pc, and oblivion on 360. But I'm talking about real story/ battle system with characters you can get in tune with. Things like,

FF 7 (ps1)
FF 8 (ps1)
FF 10 (ps2)
Baten Kaitos (gamecube) there are two more games in this series also.

As you might tell I much prefer turn-based play in appose to free rome, I'm sorry for the double post i just feel really in need of a good RPG right now, i'm sick of war games and FPS, although I will be playing them i just feel I need to get away into a new world for that 40 hours or more of play

Only two I can suggest are Final Fantasy XII or Dragon Quest VIII. FFXII takes some getting used to, but after awhile you do get used to the battle system. Not 100% if I prefer it over the old turn based systems though.
Dragon Quest is a pretty basic RPG but the story is pretty good, and you'll be able to invest a lot of hours into crafting and building up your parties stats.

I'm looking for a decent turn based RPG as well, so I might check out Baten Kaitos as I've never played that before.

Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata and Lost Oddysdey (no matter what way i spell that it looks wrong) all on the way, then theres oblivion, mass effect, fallout 3 (ok thats a bit further off). Plus Bioshock soon (ok thats stretching it but it is rpg-y) PC wise you've got the neverwinter nights 2 expansion out fairly soon oh and two worlds for 360 and pc. How many do you want? ;)

I feel your pain. Since Oblivion and Enchanted Arms there's been a bit of a rpg drought. Marvel Ultimate Alliance was good (if just as much a hack/slash as rpg) and let's not mention Phantasy Star Universe. (Yes I did play it and it's maybe not 'that' bad if you're desperate (I was).

However the 360 is just about to explode with rpg goodness.

In 2 weeks we have Blue Dragon.
A week later we have Two Worlds.
In September comes Eternal Sonata.
In November we have Mass Effect.
In December comes Lost Odyssey.

(All look amazing).

On the horizon we have Fable 2, The Last Remnant (from Square Enix), Fallout 3, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, Elveon, The Precursors and a load more jrpgs.

Isn't Blue Dragon out in a couple of days?

Edit: Just seen the release date of 24th Aug.

Poo :(
