RROD :(

Just phoned MS and they are going to repair under the extended warranty.

But two questions. Will they replace my old original with no HDMI and older die model with the new HDMI model or do I get the same one back hench may break again?

And two how long is the turn around?

Mine was replaced/repaired like for like (think it was repaired) and it took them a week.

My mate has being hammering Fifa 09 for like 3 hours...

Then after doing personal things and he left I thought "might go play GTAIV"
Turn on 360, I was welcomed with a RRoD

Then I turn it off, back on, it's normal.. I'm certain that means death within' next week?

You'll get a like for like replacement if you send it to MS. So no HDMI for you.

The time it takes for them to fix it you'll end up buying the arcade to keep you going. I can't go without gaming for a few hours never mind weeks.

I don't get how the towel trick works :s

I did it last night, worked fine after. Got RROD again this evening so I did towel trick again and it worked

Weird :s

When you send if off to microsoft they do the towel trick as well.

I think it works by overheating the Xbox to the point where it reflows the solder by the GPU. I've been using it with mixed success for a few days now, looking into doing the x-clamp fix myself to sort it out once and for all.
