RS4 vs M3

A friend is getting his RS4 soon so should be interesting.

His current S4 has given him nothign but grief, Audi say they've spent around 20k in total trying to fix it (some suspension issues), I think almost all the front end has been replaced at some point!

Anyway, after some meeting with Audi sales director they said they would give him a good trade in price on the S4 and also let him have the RS4 at a VAT free price, so he's not done too badly. Think in all he's paying about 15k to chop his S4 which is at least 2 or 3 years old for an RS4 brand new with a load of options thrown in :)

My dad has a deposit on an RS4, but it wont be available till May, and thats whether or not he decides to buy it, as he works abroad. But anyway, the new RS4 will lay waste to the M3 both in a straight line and round a track iirc.

Sorry guys, only joking. Mr Cake and I would love to do the race ourselves but only have access to a M3 SMG. Shame!!!

According to what car mag

0-60

M3 4.8
RS4 4.8

so this says dry straight line is equal
wet straight line the Audi should be quicker
track would be a tough call but would expect RS4 to take it

RS4 costs 7 grand more though

M3 CS (CS, not CSL)

I was poking about on the BMW site the other day and couldn't find anywhere a simple list of the differences between a boggo standard M3 and the CS, can anyone enlighten me? :)

I know the CSL had all that, but just a "normal" M3 cs? Didn't seem to be that much of a hike in price to warrant a CSL like motor, was only a couple of K.

M3CS is a halfway house between the CSL and 'normal' M3...has the wheels of the CSL, revised brakes and traction control, revised steering and a suede covered wheel, and a manual box (all CSLs had SMG-2).
